Terry Binns Spa was founded in 1984 by Terry Binns and Doug Sheward (pictured at right) as Terry Binns Skincare and opened in metropolitan Kansas City based on the reputation Terry had developed in providing excellent skincare services. With a background in education, speech & theater and cosmetology, Terry built a enviable spa and clientele. The spa was open from May 1 1984 thru March 7 2025. In 2025 Terry and Doug narrowed their business activities to exclusively include their mail order business as well as their walk-in location for licensed salon professionals.In 1986, Terry expanded the business to include service to our industry in terms of professional product and equipment sales. He also provided education for both a state board of cosmetology and continuing education units for salon professionals. Terry frequently provided educational experiences at little or no charge to salon professionals. He always professed that sharing industry knowledge does not create dangerous competition, but grows our industry in a healthy way. Today, Terry Binns Skincare, Inc. meets the public in two venues. Terry Binns Distribution, on Hospital Hill in Kansas City is in charge of sales to salon professionals.
